This is me, circa 1996. I’m wielding a handcrafted magic wand, whilst wearing a Princess dress, a crown, flip lens sunglasses (the ones where you could flip the lenses up if you happened to be indoors) and Christmas socks. I’m standing in front of my favorite garage door on the block.
I’m reminded of the naiveté of childhood with this photo. As a kid, I slept with my head in a box, wore glittered purple capes, and almost always, wore handmade costumes on Halloween. Being a “Kid in the Street” simply means never losing the things that give you childhood happiness.
